What are In-mold Decorating and In-mold Labeling?
In-mold decorating (IMD) and in-mold labeling (IML) is the processes of decorating plastic to make sure the graphics and labels stay on. The in-mold film process uses a special type of molding that has a very resistant coat. The way it works is a graphic overlay is put into an injection mold to decorate the product being created. An example would be adding the arrows and shapes on a video game remote control, so they stand up to the heavy use that video game players will subject them to.
